Chatham Area Public Library to Virtually Host a Presentation on Common Scams and How to Avoid Them

In the US, one in ten adults will fall victim to a scam or fraud every year. To avoid being a victim, join the Chatham Area Public Library, this October, as we will be hosting a presentation about the most common scams targeting Illinois residents in conjunction with the Illinois State Attorney’s office.

The presentation, “Common Scams and How to Avoid Them” will take place on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 6:30pm via Zoom. To register for the event, please go to the chathamlib.org -- Events page.

Marsha Griffin from the Illinois Attorney General’s office will be giving a presentation for the Chatham Area Public Library about the most common scams targeting Illinois residents. She will also offer tips to participants to protect themselves from becoming victims as well as informing participants how to register for the national Do Not Call List.

Marsha Griffin is a Community Outreach Liaison for the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. Before coming to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, Marsha was an elementary teacher for thirteen years.
