We are thrilled to welcome back talented local artists for our 15th Annual Call to Entry Juried Art Show. We are currently accepting submissions!
Exhibit Criteria:
- Artists living within approximately 80 miles of the Chatham Area Public Library District and are 16 years of age or older are eligible for participation. Exceptions may be artists with strong ties to Chatham (i.e.: A former, longtime Chatham resident who recently moved outside the District).
- Artwork submissions must be original works, appropriate for all viewing ages, and completed in the last 2 years.
- Submissions can be of any medium or combination of media.
- A non-refundable entry fee of $10.00 is required for each submission.
- An Artist Biography: A brief biography that includes basic information about the artist, their medium and any additional information that will be shared with the committee and public.
Specifications:
- Artwork, including 3-Dimensional works, may not exceed 6’x6’ or exceed 120lbs.
- No ceiling suspended works will be accepted.
- All work must be ready to install by the artist.
- Work must be equipped with hanging devices specific to the artwork and be compatible with the Library’s hanging system.
- If a video installation is being entered, the artist must be prepared to provide appropriate equipment.
- CAPLD reserves the right to install works in a manner deemed necessary for a well-designed exhibition, and, for security purposes, reserves the right to refuse work if deemed harmful.
Entry Fees:
A non-refundable entry fee of $10.00 is required for each submission. You can apply and pay online here. Or, you can apply and pay via check by filling out the Exhibition Guidelines, Application and Release Information form. Each submission should include a digital image of each piece. You can email the pieces to [email protected]. If paying with a check, please make it payable to the Friends of the Chatham Area Public Library.
Important Dates:
- September 4th, 2024: Deadline for entries (digital files) to be considered for admission
- September 19th, 2024: Artists notified of acceptance into show
- September 23th – 30th, 2024: Artists drop off artwork
- October 14th, 2024 – January 11th, 2025: Duration of Show
- October 18th, 2024: Opening Reception
- January 13th - 18th, 2025: Artwork to be picked up by artist or representative
Awards:
- Best in Show – Determined by the Library’s Art Committee
- Best Newcomer – Determined by the Library's Art Committee
- Popular Choice – Patrons of the Library will select the winner of this award
- Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception on October 18th, from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
